At Chiropractic First we have seen a multitude of people in our 19 years in Mt Eden. We cater to individuals, families, businesses and athletes from all walks of life. We want to help you be free of pain, function optimally and enjoy life at your absolute best.

At Chiropractic First we recognise that there are many aspects to health and well-being. Chiropractic care is one doorway to an aspect of your health. We will not push you through that door but we are here to help you along the way. DR Ihaia Swann

B. Chiro, Dip. AppSci, MNZCA

Dr Ihaia was born and raised on the East Coast where he enjoyed anything related to the moana: surfing, diving and fishing and also spending time with his whanau. He values a holistic lifestyle ensuring his physical, mental, family and spiritual wellbeing are looked after and balanced.

Dr Ihaia has always believed in an alternative approach to health, having been exposed to a wide range of healing practices as a child after he lost his right eye to cancer. It was this experience, coupled with a sense of responsibility he feels the need to serve his community, that ultimately led him towards chiropractic.

Dr Ihaia graduated from The New Zealand College of Chiropractic and has a strong background in health science and Māori health. He was fortunate to meet his now partner Dr Tamzin during his studies and looks forward to working alongside her to improve the wellbeing of Mount Eden. They have a beautiful 2 year daughter together, Aria who has been regularly checked and adjusted since she was 3 days old.

Previous to Chiropractic, Dr Ihaia worked for 3 years as a social worker to help care for and nurture individuals with disabilities. This was a truly rewarding experience and hopes to implement Chiropractic within this community in the future. Dr Ihaia has felt privileged to provide care for numerous people from different backgrounds such as children, pregnant women, athletes, elderly and individuals with autism.

DR Tamzin MOtion

Dr Tamzin is currently on maternity leave from March 2024 and will return in April 2025

B. Chiro, B. AppSci (Sports Nutrition), MNZCA

Dr Tamzin grew up in the beautiful south, Dunedin, where much of her younger life was spent in a dance studio or in the show jumping ring. Chiropractic has always been a vital part of Dr Tamzin’s preparation for a dance exam or a horse event.

After completing her sports nutrition degree at Otago University, Dr Tamzin’s interest with holistic and natural health continued to grow throughout her studies. This then lead her to study Chiropractic at the world renowned New Zealand College of Chiropractic.

Here was where Dr Tamzin learnt of our bodies ability to self-coordinate, self-regulate and self-heal via a well functioning spine and nervous system. This is the foundation of health and wellness.

Dr Tamzin was lucky enough to meet her partner Dr Ihaia during her studies. Together, they have a vivacious toddler, Aria who is very excited to be a big sister in March.

Dr Tamzin is so excited to bring her expertise and knowledge to help and care for the Mount Eden Community.
